I was tasked to design and paint a dragon that is reading a book while resting on top of a bookcase. This wasn't easy because I had never painted at such a large scale before so in order to tackle this project I took a straight-on photograph of the space. I then imported the photograph into Photoshop and began designing over top of the reference space. By doing so I was able to play around with many different dragon designs in the correct sizing and proportion. Once I was happy with the design I began sketching on the place where this magnificent beast now lives.
