My group partner and I designed packaging for beeswax candles because we saw a significant opportunity to make existing designs more sustainable. The main problem with quite a few candle packaging designs is the lack of reusability and the amount of waste it produces.
Our candle container tells the consumers that they can return the container to the store and refill a candle at a discounted price. The container will have a dynamic QR code on it that allows the staff to scan for the discount, as well as redirect the consumer to learn more about our brand's sustainability. Materials used are wood for the wick, glass for the container, and beeswax for the candle component.
The use of a pattern encourages the user to turn the lights off and enjoy the intricate projection in any setting.
